Teaching Personnel have had success in the last 12 months with the placement of graduate teaching assistants into Multi Academy Trusts and Teaching Alliance Schools. These providers use this initiative to develop behaviour management skills and curriculum knowledge to ensure these graduates can then potentially join their teacher training programmes. With the eventuality being that the graduate develops into a top quality newly qualified teacher. Last year, we worked with a number of providers who have used this programme to employ up to 15 graduates who have worked all year in school. Within this role they have gained really good experiences working across a number of year groups; developing behaviour management techniques; encouraging pupil progress and building their own confidence in the class room. The graduates have been utilised on a full time basis in school delivering lesson content, small grouped intervention sessions and also as cover teachers. This has been extremely beneficial to the school also, giving good continuity across different year groups as well as seeing value for money as they can grow the graduate into a candidate fit to work in school and enrol on the teacher training programme.

In the lead up to May half term, Teaching Personnel in Lancashire will be seeking new and existing candidates in the local area. The Preston branches will be looking for graduates with core and foundation degrees; enthusiasm and personality as well as the drive and determination to make a difference. We will go through the same vetting checks for every potential candidate, with references and DBS checks having to take place. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain school based experiences, grow your confidence and begin to make an impact in the local area especially working with younger children. The rate of pay is competitive and will ensure you are paid for the first 12 months whilst you gain experience in the class room. You will be expected to earn £285 per week. It must be noted that after working as a graduate in the first 12 months, you will not be guaranteed to gain a place on the teacher training programme. You will have to work through the teacher training recruitment process.
