Our client secondary school are looking for a Geography teacher to join them in January at the beginning of the new from Monday 6th. This Geography position will be for the remainder of the school year due to an upcoming maternity leave. The successful teacher of Geography will be teaching year 7 – 10 in the main with some cover in year 11.

This secondary school is a large mixed school in the central Manchester area with a Head of Humanities and a Head of Geography. The Head of Geography has specifically advised that applications from both NQTs and more experienced teachers are very welcome. Good classroom management is a must with the successful Geographer able to engage students of all abilities.

Key aspects of this Geography teaching position:

  • Pay will be dependent upon payscale: GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 per annum (pro rata)
  • Full time Geography teaching position starting in January 2020
  • 2 terms maternity cover in the first instance on a supply basis
  • Planning and marking will be expected as part of this Geography teaching position
  • Work in a large school with a highly supportive Geography and Humanities department
  • Situated in the central Manchester area; very easily accessible via local public transport

The successful teacher of Geography will be expected to become a part of the team from the offset, fully immersing themselves in school life. They will therefore benefit from being a part of a family orientated team of professional teachers who all collaborate together on a regular basis sharing best practice and resources.

The school is situated in the central Manchester area of the city centre, making it very easily accessible for those Geography teachers who travel via public transport. The local Metrolink travels nearby as well as being a regular route for the local buses. The school is housed in a relatively new building with fantastic facilities and a large on site car park.
