Geography Teacher

Our client secondary school are looking for a Geography teacher to join them in January at the beginning of the new from Monday 6^th. This Geography position will be for the remainder of the school year due to an upcoming maternity leave. The successful teacher of Geography will be teaching year 7 – 10 in the main with some cover in year 11.

This secondary school is a large mixed school in the central Manchester area with a Head of Humanities and a Head of Geography. The Head of Geography has specifically advised that applications from both NQTs and more experienced teachers are very welcome. Good classroom management is a must with the successful Geographer able to engage students of all abilities.

Key aspects of this Geography teaching position:

• Pay will be dependent upon payscale: GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 per annum (pro rata)
• Full time Geography teaching position starting in January 2020
• 2 terms maternity cover in the first instance on a supply basis
• Planning and marking will be expected as part of this Geography teaching position
• Work in a large school with a highly supportive Geography and Humanities department
• Situated in the central Manchester area; very easily accessible via local public transport

The successful teacher of Geography will be expected to become a part of the team from the offset, fully immersing themselves in school life.
