General Teaching Assistant required for Year 5 class at large community school in Crumpsall, North Manchester for September start.

Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a large community school in North Manchester to find them a Teaching Assistant to start work in their Year 5 class from February. The reason for this opening in the school is due to the current Teaching Assistant going on Maternity Leave. The Head has outlined that classroom experience isn't a necessity but pro-activeness, enthusiasm and a real passion for pupil progression is. If you are looking to go on to do your Teaching Training in the future then this would be the ideal job for you and you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. As the role is located in key stage 2 and the SATs being at the forefront of the teaching a strong understanding of Numeracy and Literacy and a willingness to be able to take small groups for additional intervention will be an expectation of the successful candidate. As the school is located in North Manchester there is a diverse community and a mix of pupils from varying ethnic backgrounds consisting of the school having above the average percentage of EAL.

The school has been recently graded 'good' by OFSTED and there is a strong working relationship between all teacher and teaching assistants with the report stating that 'Teachers and teaching assistants work well together to help pupils who find learning more difficult if they need it. This includes pupils who are eligible for the pupil premium, those who are disabled or have special educational needs, and those who speak English as an additional language. As a result, these pupils make good progress and any gaps in achievement are closing quickly.'
