General Science Teaching Assistant

Science Graduate role- Secondary School

• Daily pay rates of up to £70 (depending on experience and skills)

Are you an aspiring Science teacher with the drive to develop your experience in a Secondary School? Have you recently graduated and are looking to take the next step towards a career in education? If you have some experience with Secondary aged pupils and have a degree with a Science specialism we want to hear from you!

Teaching Personnel are looking for a learning support mentor to work with small groups of KS3 and KS4 pupils to help raise attainment across Science as well as providing pastoral support with vulnerable pupils who would benefit from a positive role model. The role is to start ASAP and will be full time until the end of the academic year in the first instance. The School is located in central Leeds , which is around a 30 minute walk from Leeds City Centre and a 5 minute walk from a stop on a regular bus route running from Leeds City Centre as well as other areas surrounding Leeds.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with Secondary aged pupils (in School, Youth Clubs, Sports Coaching, Drama Workshops, Tuition etc.)

• A degree in Science (a Science related subject)

• The drive and passion to forge a career in Secondary Education

• Minimum of grade ‘C’ in GCSE Maths and English

• Experience within a lab environment and experience of Health & Safety procedures

The team of learning support mentors/ teaching assistants in the school is well-established and growing, which means you will have a strong support network to share ideas with, as well as being linked with a strong Science department.
