What is the Future Teachers?

Future Teachers is a graduate programme across England & Wales which Teaching Personnel have designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.

How does it work?

You will begin your Future Teachers journey as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, working on a full time basis at one of our client secondary schools across Greater Manchester for up to a year, starting in September 2019. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will engage and a lead a range of specific tasks to get a full feel of what it would be like to be a teacher and gain the necessary understanding to progress in the field; from supporting pupils with their studies during lessons and in small groups and getting involved with planning/delivering your own sections of lessons with the guidance of your designated mentor.

After you have successfully completed the graduate element of your scheme, you will begin a school based teacher training programme from September 2020 within a lead training school across Manchester and surrounding areas.

What are the benefits?

You will work alongside a number of skilled teachers and support staff at one our partner training schools giving you the opportunity to learn from the best, before even starting your teacher training placements.
