Are you set to graduate this summer and are considering a career in teaching? Would you like to earn money and gain experience in a Manchester secondary school to help you decide if teaching is the right path for you? If you have answered yes to both questions, then our Future Teachers Programme could be the perfect opportunity for you!

What is the Future Teachers?

Future Teachers is a graduate programme across England & Wales which Teaching Personnel have designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.

How does it work?

You will begin your Future Teachers journey as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, working on a full time basis at one of our client secondary schools across Greater Manchester for up to a year, starting in September 2019. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will engage and a lead a range of specific tasks to get a full feel of what it would be like to be a teacher and gain the necessary understanding to progress in the field; from supporting pupils with their studies during lessons and in small groups and getting involved with planning/delivering your own sections of lessons with the guidance of your designated mentor.

After you have successfully completed the graduate element of your scheme, you will begin a school based teacher training programme from September 2020 within a lead training school across Manchester and surrounding areas.

What are the benefits?

You will work alongside a number of skilled teachers and support staff at one our partner training schools giving you the opportunity to learn from the best, before even starting your teacher training placements. You will then likely continue onto your teacher training in the same school, building continuity and providing a seamless transition. Whilst an excellent way to gain the necessary experience, it is also a financially viable option for you as you will be paid fully throughout the graduate placement.

How can I apply?

Applicants interested in apply to our Future Teachers Programme are required to be educated to degree level or have completed their degree by summer 2019 as there is no capacity for applicants to continue at University in September and start a Future Teachers placement. We welcome applications from graduates across all subject areas including; English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, MFL, IT and PE.
