Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers programme is designed for aspiring Teachers to gain paid experience and network with Teaching schools to develop your route into Teacher Training.

What is Future Teachers?

Future Teachers is a full time placement in a school partnered with Teaching Personnel. The role is a full year (12 months) placement where experience is developed in a range of roles in school. It is an excellent opportunity to develop a wide range of experience with the intention of preparing you for your Teacher training.

What does the year involve?

During this year you will have a range of responsibilities in school including Subject specific intervention, organisation and delivery of extra-curricular activities, Generalised class support, supporting pupils with SEN and class cover. Based within your specialist subject’s department you will be using the expertise developed within your degree to help enhance the educational experience of the pupils in school.

What are the benefits?

You will develop invaluable experience towards starting your PGCE as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. You are fully supported by Teaching Personnel with access to an online CPD academy designed to support your development. You will also be fully included with the partner schools specialist CPD programme. You will have the opportunity to earn over GBP1000 per month during this year. All Future Teachers schools are either Teaching schools or have close links with local training providers you will be fully supported and coached through your application to your Initial  Teacher Training.

What do I need to apply?

Applicants to the Future Teachers programme should hold a degree in a Maths related subject. You must have a genuine desire to become a Secondary Teacher and be able to commit to the programme on a full time basis. With new graduate positions becoming available throughout the year, there are a number of start dates. However, ideally, candidates will be available to start in a role immediately. With a number of partner schools across the East Lancashire area you should be flexible about your working location, however placements for convenience will be accommodated as best as possible.
