Full Time Teacher Role in SEN School - Oxford

Do you have experience working with young adults or children with complex behaviour and/or learning difficulties?

Or perhaps you have a background as a Support Worker, Care Worker, Key Worker or Youth Worker and feel confident working with children?

Teaching personnel are currently sourcing an experienced teacher for one of our schools in Oxford. The role will involve supporting pupil's based in classrooms and 1:1 with complex learning needs which may include Autism. Pupils in class may also display challenging behaviours; however, you will be working alongside a skilled and highly supportive team.

Personal qualities required:

  • Good communication and listening skills
  • The ability to build and maintain rapport with children
  • Calmness under pressure and when dealing with challenging or confrontational behaviour
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • A good understanding of the challenges faced by the children you help
  • Organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Resilience and the ability to cope with emotionally-draining and traumatic situations
  • Commitment to making a positive difference to the lives of the students
  • A positive, non-judgemental, empathetic and sensitive approach

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or one done through Teaching Personnel
  • Dedication to the needs of all your pupils, working with other staff members to offer emotional and academic support
  • Previous experience working with children either in a SEN schools or mainstream
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status or Overseas Equivalent
