Secondary School Finance Manager
Permanent Post
Location: Wirral

Via: Teaching Personnel

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join a thriving secondary school in the Wirral. This is a key role within the school’s leadership and support structure, ensuring the effective and efficient management of all financial operations.

About the Role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading the school’s financial strategy, planning and reporting.
  • Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including budget management, payroll, procurement, and compliance.
  • Providing clear and accurate financial information to the Headteacher, Governors and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, funding body requirements, and school financial procedures.
  • Managing financial audits and liaising with external agencies as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably within an educational or public sector environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial procedures, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience using financial management software.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
