EYFS Teacher

  • Full-time (Mon-Fri 8.15am-3.30pm)
  • Accrington (BB5)
  • Start date: April 19th 2021
  • GBP90-GBP135 per day (dependent on experience)

A mainstream Primary School in Accrington (BB5) are currently seeking an EYFS Teacher to join the EYFS Team on a full-time basis, this position is due to start Monday 19th April and has arisen due to maternity leave. Therefore, the role will continue in the new academic year (Sep. 2021).

The class is currently following the EYFS Curriculum, and the Head Teacher has high standards of progression within the year group and across the school. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to plan engaging lessons to a high standard. Due to the current disruption in education, there are a number of children within the class that have fallen below age-related targets, it is requested that the successful candidate is experienced in assessing pupils learning.

The School:

The school is guided by a strong leadership team who have a shared ambition to provide the best for every pupil within the school. Staff are encouraged to uphold the school ethos and to develop their skills and careers and feel valued by the Senior Leadership Team. Pupils enjoy attending school and are encouraged to grow within their education as well as supporting each other. Behaviour within the school is good overall and pupils are polite and courteous.

In the EYFS, good links are made with parents and the pre-school settings before the children start school to ensure that each child’s start to school life is as smooth as possible. A big focus is placed on personal, social and emotional development to ensure that each and every child feels safe and happy. Most children enter the Reception class with skills, knowledge and understanding typical to their age.

Job Specification:

Essential requirements:

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

-          Prior experience of teaching in the Early Years

-          Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively

-          Excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum and a range of assessment requirements and arrangements

-          Demonstrates a personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and rights of young people

-          High levels of drive and energy

-          Able to set and achieve realistic goals for pupils

-          Able to support, motivate and inspire others

-          Sense of humour, good listener, positive outlook

-          Able to work as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
