Experienced Teaching Assistant

Location: NP4
Contract Type: Full Time
Pay: £89.38 per day
Start Date: ASAP or January

Teaching Personnel are looking for a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in the NP4 area. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience, excellent behaviour management skills, and the ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs.


⭐ About the Role

As an Experienced TA, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the primary age range.
  • Support children with ALN/SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning delays.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment.
  • Assist teachers with adapting activities, preparing resources and delivering targeted interventions.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with pupils to enhance engagement and progress.
  • Promote independence, emotional regulation and confidence in learners.

⭐ Who We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
  • Confidence supporting ALN/SEN pupils or pupils with behavioural needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, supportive attitude.
  • Consistent, calm and reliable approach to behaviour management.
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Additional training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, or Behaviour Management.
  • Experience supporting IDPs or delivering interventions.
  • Experience in a nurturing, SEMH or ALN setting.
