Exam Invigilators

Date posted : 08/08/19
£9.50 - £10.50 per hour

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

I am currently recruiting for a number of schools in Scarborough and surrounding areas to support the Examinations Managers in the fair and proper conduct of all examinations in an environment that enables students to perform at their best.

Requirements of the individual

  • Be confident and authoritative in introducing and conducting the examination.
  • Be sympathetic and responsive to any personal issues / problems affecting individuals, in both large and small group situations.
  • Show initiative and work independently.
  • Work within very tight time constraints.
  • Have good communication skills.

Job specific requirements

  • Collect examination material from the Examinations Office and quickly determine the requirements and arrangements for each examination to be managed.
  • Ensure that the examination room is laid out correctly (this may require some re-arrangement of furniture) and set up with all necessary notices, desk cards, clocks and examination papers.
  • Admit and supervise the students at the appropriate time, ensuring that they observe examination conditions, leave all unauthorised items in the designated room or receptacle and are seated at the correct desk.
  • Complete the required documentation on invigilation, attendance, late arrivals and room seating plan.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Examinations Manager or the Head Teacher.

Alongside the Exam Invigilators roles, Teaching Personnel can offer work for Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Learning Support Assistants, Intervention Tutors and Graduates to complement the hours of work outside of the Exam Periods in Schools. Because invigilating is a very seasonal job, it is impertive that you are flexible and willing to undertake Teaching Assistant roles too.

If you are interested and would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact Eli Stokes in branch, or submit your CV by following the appropriate links on this page.
