English teacher (October start)

  • Full time teacher of English post
  • Work in an Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary school
  • Competitive pay rates in line with MPS/UPS

Our client secondary school located in Rochdale is currently seeking a teacher of English to join their faculty from the October half term; this position will initially be until summer with the potential of a permanent contract in September 2018.

• Full time English teacher post, October start

• Working within a supportive department, modern secondary school.

• Prospect of a permanent contract from September 2017

• Opportunity to work in an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ secondary school.

• Located in Milnrow, close to the M62 and easily accessible via public transport.

This is an average sized mixed 11-16 academy with around 1190 students currently on roll, the school is based on a large site offering state of the art facilities and excellent provisions for all staff and students. Located in Rochdale, the school serves the diverse local community with a large proportion of students being of Pakistani heritage and therefore those that speak English as an additional language is above the national average. In recent years there has been an increase in the cohort of students due to the improvement in student’s attainment and progress especially in English, this is reflected by the schools p8 score of +0.17.

The successful teacher of English will plan and assess lessons to students across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four, in line with the curriculum and progress levels in the class. Additionally they will be responsible for upholding the high standards set by the faculty by developing differentiated lessons to challenge and motivate all students in order for them to reach their maximum potential.
