Due to an upcoming gap in their English department, our client secondary school are looking for a qualified English teacher to join them on a full time basis from Easter onwards.

The position has arisen due to a member of the faculty moving on due to an external promotion and would be suitable for any level of applicant, including those who are newly qualified.

  • Well regarded secondary with excellent standing in the local community
  • Excellent facilities throughout modern secondary school
  • Pay in line with teaching scale (MPS/UPS)
  • Excellent leadership, judged to be Good by Ofsted
  • Situated on the Oldham and Manchester border, with good accessibility to the M60

With currently over 1500 students on roll, the school is oversubscribed and has an excellent reputation in the local community, firmly the school of choice for parents and students. The school serves a rich catchment area with the large majority of students on roll from Hollinwood, Limeside and Failsworth. The school has excellent public transport links with a neighbouring ring road, and a number of public transport links to the city centre and beyond. Since a large scale renovation and extension, the school boasts outstanding provisions for learning throughout.

"We're currently looking to bolster our English faculty from Easter with the appointment of a temporary English teacher for the remainder of this academic year. The successful applicant will then have the opportunity to join us from a permanent basis from September 2019. We're open to all levels of experience, including newly qualified English teachers"

Whilst working at our client, there will be the expectancy that the successful English teacher will plan, mark and deliver schemes of work across Key Stage 3 and 4, including supporting those in the run up to their GCSE examinations. There will be existing schemes of work in place, along with support from an established department lead to ensure a smooth transition into working at a new school.

If you are an English teacher looking to secure your next permanent position, and would be interested in securing a fixed term position from Easter then please apply within via the link provided, or alternatively contact Miles at Manchester North for further information.
