Position: KS4 English Teacher
Location: Effingham, Surrey
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £31,350 - £46,179 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) PLUS a £5000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers
Hours: 40 hours per week

Our students, aged 11-16, are on the autism spectrum and may exhibit behavioural and communication challenges, with some facing multiple learning difficulties.

Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent teaching qualification, alongside evidence of in-service training.
*Experience in a special school setting, especially with pupils with ASC and SEND.
*Proven success in delivering a differentiated curriculum to a broad spectrum of needs.
*Additional qualifications in SEND are desirable.
*Proficiency in understanding ASC/SEMH students with complex needs.
*Solid grasp of the national curriculum.
*Insight, understanding, and experience dealing with autism and related conditions and their impact on learning.
*Ability to develop and implement curriculum adaptations for students with SEND, particularly autism.

Responsibilities:
*Develop and contribute to the curriculum while considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.
*Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Employ comprehensive planning in the curriculum delivery.
*Set, monitor, and review personalized learning targets to maximize each student's learning.
*Assess and report on student progress through reports and meetings as per school policies.
*Develop lesson plans with a reflective approach on the outcomes.
*Participate in all relevant meetings and maintain effective communication with staff.
*Contribute to the review of EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
*Implement structured lessons that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
*Stay informed on current autism issues to plan effective teaching and learning.
*Manage challenging behaviours within the school's policy and procedures.
