The school, based in the Southampton area, a mixed comprehensive providing world class education to 11-16 year olds are seeking to recruit a teacher of English and Media (desirable) to join them in January 2020. The school is considered to be a ‘good’ school with ‘outstanding’ features and they pride themselves on their strong relationships with staff and students and have a strong community and inclusive ethos of which they have worked hard to achieve.
The school have exceptionally high standards of their students and staff work collaboratively as a team to maintain these standards and strive for their students to exceed their potential. They are seeking to appoint an ambitious teacher of English who is inspirational and can promote a love for their subject. You should have excellent communication skills with an all inclusive approach to your pedagogy to enhance the progress of your students. As a motivational teacher of English, you will work together with your department to deliver a fantastic scientific education for your students.
The successful candidate will join an innovative and dynamic department that consist of a team of dedicated teachers and support staff who work cohesively to drive standards that is reflected in their students impressive attainment.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have expert knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 for English
- Be able to teach Media Studies or show whiling to take on additional training to teach it
- Be as committed to your CPD as the school will be to yours
- Have a good first degree in English or related subject and QTS
- Be an NQT keen to secure a role at a school who have an fantastic NQT programme in place or a more experienced teacher who would like to benefit from a bespoke middle leaders CPD programme
- Have a good sense of humour, be resilient and be able to foster excellent relationships with students, colleagues and parents alike
