English with Drama teacher

  • Temporary English with Drama teaching position

Are you an English teacher who is also able to teach Drama? Do you have a passion for raising attainment and ensuring that every pupil can achieve excellence?

A mixed 11-16 comprehensive secondary school in Oldham is currently seeking a teacher of English with Drama to join their school for a maternity cover. This is a temporary position starting from October until the end of the academic year.

• Full time Teacher of English and Drama post (maternity cover)

• Work in an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ secondary school

Our client secondary school is based on a large site offering state of the art facilities, large classrooms and excellent provisions for all students. The school is located in Oldham close to Royton and is accessible via the A627 road and the surrounding areas Central Manchester, Bury and Rochdale. The school serves the local diverse catchment area therefore the majority of students come from minority ethnic background and speaks English as an additional language. The school currently meets the governments floor standard for progress and attainment.

The incoming English teacher will be teaching English across Key stage 3 and 4, they will be responsible for deliver motivating and differentiated English lessons to keep students engaged and raise attainment. In addition to this they will be working with students practically through drama, to open the imagination of pupils and put emphasis on their personal development.
