Are you an English graduate looking to gain invaluable experience in a secondary school prior to starting your PGCE? Have you got previous experience working with secondary aged students?

If so, our client secondary school in North Manchester is currently seeking an English Graduate to join their English faculty on a full time basis. This position will be from September until the end of the academic year.

  • Full time English Graduate position, starting in September
  • Develop your behaviour management skills & classroom presence
  • Get paid to scale MPS/UPS (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)
  • Work in a modern and well facilitated secondary school

Situated in North Manchester close to Blackley our client secondary is easily accessible via the M60 motorway and from a variety of public transport links from Manchester City Centre. This is a large mixed 11-16 secondary with over 1200 students currently on roll which is looking to increase next year with the new cohort of year 7 students.

The incoming English Graduate will:

  • Have a degree specialising in English or similar subject
  • Have previous experience working with secondary aged students
  • Develop schemes of work in line with the curriculum to help 'close the gap'
  • Work with students who have not met minimum grades to raise attainment
  • Support Gifted and Talented students to stretch and challenge them to meet their full potential
  • Liaise with the classroom teacher on the behaviour and performance of all students

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
