English and EAL Teaching Assistant (Temporary to Permanent)
Location: Chorley, Lancashire

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English and EAL Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school in Chorley from February on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students’ language development and academic progress in a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.
In this role, you will work closely with English and EAL teachers to support students who are learning English as an additional language, as well as those needing extra help with their English skills. You will provide in-class assistance, help develop targeted learning resources, and support small group or one-to-one sessions tailored to individual student needs.
You will play a key role in fostering students’ confidence, improving their communication skills, and promoting a positive attitude towards learning. Your support will help ensure all students can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, particularly supporting EAL learners or in English language development. Strong communication skills, patience, and a flexible, proactive approach are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
