Education Health Care Assistants

Our client school is seeking Education and Health Care Assistants immediately.

The school is an impressive, well-resourced special school situated in Blackburn, Lancashire providing high quality specialist education, care and therapy for children and young people aged 2 - 19 years with a wide range of learning difficulties including autism, PMLD, SLD, complex medical needs, sensory impairments and physical disabilities.

The school has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted (February 2016) and recently opened an exciting new specialist provision for Autism.

In this period of growth the school are looking to appoint a number of enthusiastic and committed Education Health Care Assistants to join their busy, demanding and rewarding school, starting as soon as possible.

Under the direction of teachers and senior staff, you will provide support to individuals and groups of children to access outcomes as outlined in each individual's Education Health Care Plan.

You will support pupils education, health, medical, physical and general care needs following agreed plans, promote effective communication for all pupils using a range of agreed strategies e.g.: Makaton, PECS, communication aides etc. and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

You must have SEN experience to be considered.

The working hours will likely be:

11:30am to 1:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

11:30am to 3pm on Wednesdays

However please note that these are the minimum contractual hours and you will ideally have a minimum of 3 full days availability.

The role will be on a supply basis initially, with a view to becoming permanent.
