EBD Teacher
South Manchester
Our client is a large successful secondary school with academy status for Key stage three and four pupils. The school provides a cultivating learning environment for all pupils many with challenging behaviour.
Our client is currently looking to expand their staff team and are currently seeking 2 experienced Teachers who have worked with EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties) pupils previously. Teachers from all subject area's will be considered for this role however a specialism in Maths, English or Science is desirable but not essential. This is a full-time position due to start ASAP.
Job Purpose
To be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and has pupils who achieve well.
Core Requirements of the Post
In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the teacher will demonstrate essential professional characteristics, and in particular will:
- Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues;
- Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom engage and motivate pupils;
- Use the performance management process to advance pupil learning and enhance professional practice in line with the school's aspirations and priorities;
- Have lead responsibility for a subject or aspect of the school's work and develop plans which identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and / or maintenance;
- Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.
The client school is located in Wythenshawe, a short drive from exit 4 on the M56 and easily accessible via Metro links from the city centre and public bus routes. The school has been on an amazing journey over the past few years, leading it to be nationally recognised for its continuous improvement. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school received 'Good' in all areas including leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching and achievement of pupils.
With an innovative curriculum and high expectations in terms of commitment and hard work, the school strives to ensure that all students can achieve their full potential.
