Reception Teaching Assistant – SEN (Non-Verbal Child)

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Formby is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Reception who is non-verbal.

This is a rewarding role for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, communicate, and thrive within the school environment.

The successful candidate will:

Have previous SEN experience, ideally within Early Years
Be confident supporting a child who is non-verbal, using communication strategies and visual support
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
Be available full-time, Monday to Friday
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies

Requirements:

SEN experience is essential
Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification preferred (higher rate of pay available for qualified candidates)
Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
