Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant – Knotty Ash (L14)

Start Date: April 2026

Full Time | Long Term | £14.30 per hour + (DOE)

Are you passionate about supporting children to achieve their best? Do you have a calm, patient approach and a genuine desire to help pupils overcome barriers to learning?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive school in the Knotty Ash (L14) area this April.

The Role

As a Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils who require additional social, emotional, or behavioural support.
  • Implement personalised behaviour support strategies.
  • Assist the class teacher with interventions and general classroom management.
  • Contribute to a safe, engaging and positive learning environment.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours.

This role is ideal for those with experience in education, youth work, support roles, or any position involving behaviour management.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs.
  • Remains calm, patient, and resilient when faced with challenges.
  • Can quickly build rapport and provide consistent, positive encouragement.
  • Understands (or is willing to learn) de‑escalation techniques.
  • Is reliable, proactive, and passionate about making a difference.
  • Holds, or is willing to apply for, an enhanced Child Workforce DBS.

  • West Derby, Dovecot & Page Moss

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
