SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1)

Full Time

Year 2

From Easter Half Term

£14.30 per hour + (depending on experience)

Are you a compassionate, dedicated educator looking to make a genuine difference in a child’s life?
Teaching Personnel are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 2 with Autism (ASC). This rewarding position begins immediately after the Easter half term and offers the chance to provide vital support within a warm, supportive primary school environment.


The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with autism, helping them engage with learning and regulate their emotions.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised strategies and interventions.
  • Support the child in developing communication, social and independence skills.
  • Assist with both academic tasks and daily routines, ensuring the pupil feels safe, supported and ready to learn.
  • Contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working with children with Autism or other additional needs.
  • Are patient, emotionally resilient and able to build warm, trusting relationships.
  • Can adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
  • Are consistent, reliable, and confident supporting behaviour and sensory needs.
  • Have a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
