Year 3 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASC) – ASAP Start
Location: WA9 – St Helens
Role Type: Full-time, term time
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Potentially until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour (DOE)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive RC primary school in the WA9 area, who are seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The Role – Job Description
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide individualised support to a Year 3 pupil with ASC
- Support the pupil’s academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development
- Implement strategies in line with the pupil’s EHCP
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
- Encourage independence while providing consistent, structured support
- Help create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Support the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom as required
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in supporting children with ASC and/or SEN (school experience preferred)
- Patient, calm, and nurturing, with a genuine passion for SEN support
- Confident in managing behaviour and supporting emotional needs
- Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Adaptable and proactive in their approach to learning support
- Holding a TA qualification or relevant SEN training (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
