Early Years Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in Bodmin and are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work on a part time basis within Early Years. The role will start on a temporary term basis working 15 hours per week (Monday-Wednesday) but could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.

The school aims to provide all children with the best opportunities in order to develop into confident and independent young people. We are looking for a TA who is passionate about helping the development of young children. If you feel that you are enthusiastic, motivated and empathic then please apply for this role!

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with early years and have a good understanding of the approaches to supporting them. Previous experience is necessary as you will need to understand the nursery curriculum in order to support the teacher with their classroom tasks and discussion. You must be able to adapt the lesson plan to assist any student that requires additional help and support small groups of students that requires additional help.

To apply, we are looking for Nursery Assistants with the following:

  • A minimum of 3 months experience working with Children
  • Previous experience with Early Years either personal or professional
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • Patience
  • GCSE grade or equivalent to C or above in Maths and English
  • Level 3 or Equivalent in a child related course

Requirements:

• An Enhanced 'Child Workforce' DBS on the Update Service. (Or willing to apply ASAP)

• References from your two most recent child based employers
