Early Years Practitioner (Level 6) – Join Our EYFS Team!
Location: Accrington, BB5
Contract: Maternity cover, Term Time Only
Hours: 33.75 per week (8:30am – 3:45pm)
Grade: 7 (SCP 19–25)
Start Date: January 2026
Are you passionate about early childhood education and ready to lead with creativity and care? We are looking for a Level 6 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our vibrant and welcoming primary school in Accrington.
About the Role:
You will lead the day-to-day organisation and delivery of play, care, and learning in our 30-hour nursery, supported by our Reception-based EYFS Lead. As the Lead Practitioner, you will:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
- Ensure staff are effectively deployed and children are supported and stimulated.
- Plan and implement engaging curriculum activities and long-term learning goals.
- Support smooth transitions between nursery and reception.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Level 6 qualification in Early Years/Foundation Stage or equivalent (e.g., QTS).
- Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development.
- Ability to lead, inspire and support a team.
- Experience in planning, assessment, and delivering inclusive learning.
️ Record Keeping & Information Management:
- Maintain robust systems for observation and assessment.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of assessment procedures.
- Ensure accurate completion of records including daily registers, accident logs, and safeguarding systems (e.g., CPOMS).
- Complete Quality Framework action plans and evaluations.
Problem Solving & Decision Making:
- Respond independently to unexpected situations in line with school procedures.
- Lead the implementation of tailored programmes, including IEPs in collaboration with the SENCO.
