 SEN Early Years Practitioner (Sholing) 
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:45am – 3:15pm
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Initially via Teaching Personnel, with the opportunity to transition to a school contract following a successful probation period.

Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join an Early Years setting in Sholing, working closely with pupils who have a SEND diagnosis or are in the early stages of assessment. This includes children with medical needs, ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition), and non-verbal communication profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to Early Years pupils with diverse SEND needs

  • Implement tailored learning strategies and communication methods

  • Support with personal care or medical routines where required

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Promote independence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEND (Early Years experience preferred)

  • A patient, calm, and creative approach to supporting young learners

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

  • A passion for helping children reach their full potential

  • Reliability, empathy, and enthusiasm

  • Willingness to undertake relevant training
