 Ad Hoc Learning Support Assistant – SEN Colleges, Southampton 
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Agency: Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are looking for dedicated, patient and motivated Ad Hoc Learning Support Assistants to support young people with additional needs across several SEN colleges in Southampton. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping learners aged 16+ develop independence, confidence, and essential life and academic skills.

About the Role:

  • Support students with a range of SEN needs (including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning disabilities, and complex needs)

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within classroom, vocational and community-based learning environments

  • Assist lecturers and support staff in delivering engaging, accessible lessons

  • Encourage independence, employability skills, and positive behaviour

  • Work on an ad hoc basis depending on the colleges’ daily requirements

We’re Looking For:

  • A calm, patient and enthusiastic individual

  • Experience with SEN or care settings (desirable but training available)

  • Someone confident supporting young adults with varied abilities

  • Availability to start ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
