Ad-Hoc SEN Learning Support Assistant – Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel is looking for compassionate, flexible, and reliable Ad-Hoc SEN Learning Support Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs across a range of primary and secondary settings in the Southampton area.
About the Role
You will provide tailored 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, which may include:

Autism (ASC)
-
ADHD
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
-
Speech, Language and Communication needs
-
Moderate/Specific Learning Difficulties
This is an ad-hoc position, ideal for candidates seeking flexible work, varied experience, and the opportunity to make a real impact on young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils in accessing learning and adapting tasks where needed

Implement strategies recommended by teachers and SENCOs

Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Build supportive, trusting relationships with pupils

Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
Requirements
-
Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
-
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
-
Good communication and teamwork skills
-
Availability on short notice
-
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
