Learning Support Assistant – SEN Schools (Ad Hoc) | Southampton
£13.75 per hour | Supply / Flexible Work | Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our team and support a range of SEN schools across Southampton on an ad hoc, flexible basis.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a variety of additional needs.

  • Help create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment.

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to promote positive learning outcomes.

  • Assist with behaviour support, communication, and personalised interventions.

  • Adapt to different school settings, age groups and needs depending on daily assignments.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience is desirable but not essential).

  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach.

  • A genuine desire to support pupils with SEND.

  • Flexibility and reliability for ad hoc bookings.

  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through us).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
