Full Time EAL Teaching Assistant Role at 'Good' Hackney Secondary School

  • Full time role starting in January, with view of continuing into next academic year
  • School very well located, 5 minutes from Dalston Junction Station
  • £60 - £70 per day

A mixed comprehensive secondary school in Hackney is seeking to appoint an EAL Teaching Assistant on a full time basis to start in September.

The school has a population of just over 1000 students on its books, and a large percentage of the cohort speaks English as a Second or Additional Language.

This role will involve working on a 121 or small group basis to support students within the classroom and in regular break out sessions. You will be mainly supporting in English, Maths and Science lessons – so a solid knowledge of all these subjects is desirable.

The school are looking for an experienced candidate who has an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent) and a C grade of above in GCSE Maths and English. The ability to speak another language is also a plus, but not essential, and CELTA (or TEFL) qualifications are encouraged.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with the opportunity to work in a good, high achieving and supportive school that offers extensive training to its support staff throughout the year.
