EAL Teaching Assistant
Doncaster
- Full time role, term time only
- September 2019
- Introduction to a supportive and successful secondary academy in South Manchester
- Competitive salary - earn up to £1350+ per month
Due to a number of students transitioning up from local feeder schools, our client school is now looking for an English as an Additional Language (EAL) specialist Teaching Assistant to support during the transition period in September. Whilst the successful candidate will be required initially in September, ongoing support may be required for the remainder of the academic year.
The successful Teaching Assistant will specifically support students and teachers across the Academy to provide individualised intervention for those students with English as an Additional Language and International New Arrivals. As an EAL Teaching Assistant you will support the schools SEN and Inclusion team and will support the academic and social needs of pupils with English as an additional language. This will be done through in-class support and working with small groups of students and 1:1.
Our partner school welcomes applications from enthusiastic and inspirational language graduates who enjoy working as part of a team and wish to develop their skills in a school environment. However, experience of working with secondary aged students/students with EAL is essential for this role, as is a grade C or above in English and Maths.
Our client school is the local secondary provider of choice at the heart of our community and has been on an amazing journey to improve education for all of their students and have transformed the Academy. Academic standards have soared and our client school is now recognised as an innovative and successful school. The school recently invested in a brand new state-of-the-art building to accommodate their growing student population and therefore has excellent facilities throughout.
The school is located in Doncaster, easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and public bus routes. The school also has a large free car park for all staff members.
