EAL Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking to appoint an EAL Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in the Bradford area that prides itself on its rich and diverse community. The school needs a confident EAL Teaching Assistant to assist the delivery of education to pupils where language serves as a barrier to their learning.

Experience in a variety of languages would be advantageous, however, specialists in one language area are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate will benefit from a rewarding role to gain new experience and teaching methods in facilitating the education of pupils who do not speak English as their first language.

The ideal candidate must:

-          Have experience in the delivery of learning to speakers of other languages

-          Understand the complexities that a child whose primary language is not English may face when tackling the learning process in a mainstream setting

-          Can work with SENCO to review and assess overall student attainment

-          Be able to work one to one or in small groups helping pupils perform to their best ability

-          A passion to help and support pupils in their educational development
