DT Teacher

The Headteacher at a mixed comprehensive secondary school located in Bolton is seeking a full time Design and Technology teacher from February 2020 or earlier.

Due to a member of staff set to take maternity leave the Headteacher and Head of Department wishes to appoint a skilled practitioner with a genuine passion for teaching and learning. -          Full time Design and Technology (Maternity Cover) required February 2020 or earlier.

-          Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent within Design and Technology.

-          Applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified teachers as full support will be provided for the successful post holder.

-          Pay in line with MPS/Ups GBP24, 373 - GBP40, 490.

The Design and Technology department has recently seen a full refurbishment boasting access to state of the art resources within modern facilities. The department has fully equipped workshops, catering halls and open plan learning spaces. As the incoming Design and Technology teacher you can expect to join a highly successful staff team, and department which are thoroughly enjoyed by pupils across Key stage 3 and 4.

As the incoming Design and Technology Teacher  you will be required to;

-          Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.

-          Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.

-          Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements

-          Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.

The school is located in the Farnworth region of Bolton and currently serves just over 600 pupils aged 11-16. It  is easily accessible  via the M61 and the surrounding areas, which include Bury, Wigan, Salford and Chorley. Public transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the school.
