Drama Teacher

Full time Drama teaching post commencing in January 2020 for a Stockport based Secondary school.

Due to a member of staff leaving the department this is an open vacancy with the school looking to initially appoint a Drama teacher for 2 terms from January to July 2020 where the post will then be considered for an extension into the new academic year in September.

The timetable will consist of Drama teaching across Year 7-11 with the school highlighting a Drama teacher with BTEC experience being highly beneficial for this post but not essential. Candidates without BTEC teaching experience are still encouraged to apply as support can be put in place for the successful teacher of Drama.

As the incoming Drama teacher the school is a modern new build and has state of the art teaching aids allowing the latest technological equipment to be utilised.  Currently the school is focusing hard on raising attainment amongst students as more recent academic performances have been below expectations and projected progress 8 targets.

Located in Stockport for those who don’t drive the school has a train station 0.6 miles away in addition to frequent bus routes from surrounding areas. For those with their own transport the school is located just off the M60.

Drama teachers interested in applying will need to submit an application by the end of November. You will need to have school based references, qualified teacher status in the UK, experience of teaching Drama up to GCSE level in addition to BTEC would be highly advantageous to your application. You will also need to apply for or be eligible to apply for a fully enhanced DBS certificate.
