We are looking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Teacher of Design and Technology to cover maternity leave for a Trafford based secondary school. The appointment of the Design and Technology teacher is to commence from January to December 2019 for the full calendar year. The secondary school has a specialist technology department with a variety of new equipment. As Design & Technology Teacher you will need to be to be skilled in resistant materials as you will be providing practicals to Key Stage 3 and 4.

The secondary school that comes under the Trafford local authority is a single gender school which has an Ofsted grade of GOOD from their recent inspection. The secondary school aims to deliver an engaging environment for the students from all abilities so you will need to be an approachable and positive role model for this Design and Technology position. The Trafford based school has an on-site carpark and is just off the M60 Motorway. If you use public transport, there are trains and buses that are of walking distance from the school.

Your main responsibilities at the school will be to deliver lessons and provide tutorials for the hands-on practicals as well as supporting students at Key Stage 4 with their coursework and exam preparations. You will also be part of parent's evenings and will need to attend department meetings throughout your 12 months of the maternity cover. Having experience in Food Technology would also be desirable as you may have to support classes towards the end of your appointment. However this is not essential. Newly Qualified Teachers are also encouraged to apply.

Criteria for the Design & Technology position:

**Experienced teaching Design & Technology in a UK based school

**Confident to deliver lessons up to Key Stage 4 with practical tutorials

**Be available to start for January to the end of December 2019

**Be able to commute to the Trafford area on a regular basis

Highlights for the Design & Technology position:

**Pay ranging on the scale point of £23,720-£39,406

** Full time work for a full calendar year

**Located close to transport links with train/bus stops and a on-site staff carpark
