Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to work throughout Derby City and Derbyshire within Special Educational Needs schools.

We are currently looking for TA's to work in the DE24 area of Derbyshire at a school that has been named 'OUTSTANDING' by OFSTED. The outstanding school caters for children aged 11 - 19 years old with Autism as well as Complex Needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Experience working in a special educational needs environment, particularly with children who are on the Autistic Spectrum
  • Qualified as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (desirable but not essential)
  • Experienced managing challenging behaviour and implementing communication aids such as Makaton and PECS
  • Confident to contribute to Individual Education Plans and Education, Health and Care Plans where necessary
  • Be willing to get involved in extra-curricular activities including residential trips, staff meetings and more
  • Calm and patient, nurturing personality
  • Experience working within a school or care home environment
