A GOOD school located in Darwen have approached Teaching Personnel exclusively to source and appoint a Teacher from September until October half term to work in the Year 2/3 and 4 year groups. The role will be for two full days a week! The Business Manager has recently asked for CVs to be sent over so the Head teacher and Deputy can look over the weekend and decide who they want to shortlist and appoint.
The role will be to deliver PPA cover in Year 2, 3 and 4 working with the class teachers in these year groups to ensure the planning and delivery is in line with the framework for the year group. It is highly likely that you will be expected to plan and deliver core and foundation subjects.
The school is centred around strong Christian beliefs and so the applying candidates will need to ensure they are able to work in line with the ethos and uphold the beliefs which are fed into the school working day. The children who attend school are well behaved and make good progress from Reception to Year 6. The current Head teacher has worked effortlessly to move the school from Requires Improvement to Good by Ofsted. It was noted at a recent inspection that the Leadership in school is the driving force behind the progress made in school and the teaching and learning in school is now on track and working ahead of the other schools in the local area.
Over the past term, a member of staff at Teaching Personnel has covered the role and has openly noted to the school and his consultant that the work place is 'thoroughly enjoyable'. He also noted that the role was a challenge but one that he worked hard to ensure all the children he worked with made good progress. The teacher has now secured a full time permanent role elsewhere and so the role will be open to new applicants. To confirm; in order to apply for this role you must have QTS and experience in working in KS1 and LKS2. The Head teacher will be keen to observe and interview. At the interview stage, you will be expected to discuss your knowledge of the safeguarding steps you would take in school and your ability to build relationships with children and their parents.
