Cover Supervisor

Permanent, Term Time Only

35 Hours per week

Start: September 2021

The school, based in Crawley are is a Secondary School serving pupils ages 11-16 who pride themselves for excellence are seeking to recruit a Cover Supervisor to join them from September 2021. Over the last couple of years, with a clear focus of raising standards, the school is making good progress towards becoming an outstanding school.

As a Cover Supervisor at this school, you will be expected to supervise a range of timetables classes in the usual teachers absence to enable students to continue to learn. You may be asked to carry out other duties such as exam invigilation, dedicated administrative support for specific departments and learning support.

As a Cover Supervisor at this school you should:

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confidently be able to communicate effectively with a range of pupils, staff and parents
  • Be confident to supervisor classes of up to 30 students, independently
  • Be able to take direction, as well as use your own initiative
  • Be able to build excellent relationships with students and staff alike
  • Be confident in implementing school policies such as behaviour and reporting back to the usual class teacher

The role would be ideal for a final year student (part time applications can be considered) or a graduate who is interested to train to teach in the future or an already experienced Learning Support Assistant who is seeking a new challenge. Applications from Sports Coaches are also encouraged.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
