Do you have experience working within a secondary school and would like to secure a full time position as a cover supervisor?

Our client secondary school in Rochdale are looking to bolster their cover team with the appointment of a full time cover supervisor for the next 2 academic terms.

Due to the increased need for external cover, our partner secondary school are looking to appoint a full time cover supervisor to work within their school each day, covering emergency and pre-planned absences until the end of this academic year. Whilst working as a Cover Supervisor, the successful applicant will be expected to supervise the classroom whilst monitoring students’ behaviour and ensuring the school’s safeguarding policies are followed. During each lesson, there will be detailed work set by the regular class teacher, and the expectancy is for you to hand out and deliver the work to the best of your ability, however there will be absolutely no planning or marking involved and you are not expected to be completely confident with each subject. A good understanding of basic literacy and numeracy is expected to help students who may struggle to understand parts of the work.

  • Full time working hours, 32.5 hours per week, term time only
  • Earn a competitive wage dependent on your experience and responsibilities
  • Opportunity to gain invaluable experience as a cover supervisor at an Ofsted ‘Good’ secondary school in Rochdale
  • Ideal preparation for aspiring teachers
  • Access to further development and training opportunities through Teaching Personnel’s tailored CPD academy

The school is a large secondary situated in Milnrow, Rochdale with excellent facilities inside a modern building along with a large scale education complex. The school moved to the new setting 7 years ago which has kept in excellent condition for students and staff alike. With 1200 students on roll, the school is slightly larger than average but still has a community feel in which students behave well and respect one another.

This post is ideal for anyone considering a career in education and the school would welcome applications from recent graduates who hold degrees in subjects which match the curriculum. Anyone with experience as a cover supervisor or unqualified teacher in a secondary setting will be highly desirable as well as those who may have transferable skills from coaching or tutoring.
