Are you looking to gain experience as a cover supervisor in secondary schools with aspirations of becoming a teacher?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a number of cover supervisors on behalf of a client secondary school in Wythenshawe. This will be flexible day to day work when the school require lesson cover for teacher absences including short term sickness, planning and preparation time and training days.

The role of cover supervisor is varied, offering a range of teaching opportunities such as delivering lessons with pre-set work, managing classroom behaviour to ensure the completion of the work and supporting the department when required. This will also involve supporting pupils aged 11-16 in smaller groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Candidates with a background in youth work or sports coaching will be best suited to the role in order to be able to engage well with pupils during lessons.

This Wythenshawe based secondary school is very accessible for candidates who are drivers via the M56 motorway and for non-drivers, the area has good public transport links via the Metrolink and bus services from in and around Manchester.

Applicant requirements for the cover supervisor role:

  • Previous experience working within a school or with young people e.g. youth work and sports coaching
  • Ideally be educated to degree level or hold a qualification related to supporting the learning of pupils aged 14 - 18.
  • Be a confident and enthusiastic individual who is able to build good relationships with students
