English Teacher – Basingstoke (Start May 2026)

Full-Time | Experienced Teacher | Excellent Behaviour Management

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Basingstoke from May 2026. This full-time position is perfect for a skilled educator who brings passion for English, strong behaviour management, and the ability to inspire learners across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

You’ll become part of a supportive and ambitious learning community where high expectations, positive relationships and academic achievement are central to everyday life. The right candidate will help shape students’ confidence in reading, writing and communication, setting them up for success both in exams and in life.

About the Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, well-planned English lessons that challenge and support learners at KS3 and KS4.
  • Use excellent behaviour management to maintain a purposeful, respectful and inclusive classroom culture where students feel motivated and safe to learn.
  • Promote a diverse and rich English curriculum that develops students’ skills in literature, language, reading comprehension and writing.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice, contribute to curriculum development and help drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, effort and achievement in line with school values.
