Teacher of English – Basingstoke – January 2026 Start

Full-Time | Secondary | Long-Term Appointment

Are you a committed and inspiring Teacher of English ready for a new challenge from January 2026?
Teaching Personnel are supporting a forward-thinking secondary school in Basingstoke seeking an enthusiastic English specialist to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis until the end of the academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and confident subject specialists looking to make a positive impact in a well-supported English department. If you are passionate about literature, language, and helping young people achieve their best, we would love to hear from you.


The Role:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Plan, teach, and assess in line with national curriculum expectations
  • Support students of differing abilities to make sustained progress
  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the wider English department and whole-school culture

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified Teacher of English OR a strong English subject specialist
  • Secure knowledge of the KS3–KS4 English curriculum
  • Confident behaviour management and excellent communication skills
  • A passion for supporting students through engaging teaching
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
