Cover Supervisor – Stockport

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £89–£110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

This is a large and inclusive 11–16 secondary school in central Stockport, known for strong behaviour policies and supportive leadership. The school is committed to maintaining a high standard of teaching and learning, with robust cover support already in place.

Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson material in the absence of the usual class teacher. This role requires someone who can maintain classroom engagement, encourage independent learning, and uphold behaviour policies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and 4

  • Maintain a focused and respectful classroom environment

  • Support pupils with their tasks and provide feedback when appropriate

  • Communicate with teaching staff about pupil progress and incidents

  • Adapt to cover various subjects depending on daily requirements

Candidate Essentials:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification is highly desirable

  • Previous experience in a school, youth work or coaching role

  • Strong classroom presence and confident communication skills

  • Calm, professional, and reliable under pressure

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
