Cover Supervisor

A thriving mainstream secondary school in the heart of Poole is seeking to appoint a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated team from September onwards. This is a full-time role offering an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education to gain invaluable classroom experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Working as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school setting involves delivering pre-set work to students in the absence of their usual classroom teacher. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively while maintaining a calm and professional approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff

• Ensuring students remain on task and follow school expectations

• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Supporting students in their learning as required

• Assisting with administrative tasks and cover logistics when needed

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with young people, preferably in a school or educational setting

• Be confident in leading a classroom and managing behaviour independently

• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Be adaptable, reliable, and professional in all situations

• Be enthusiastic about contributing to the wider school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
