Cover Supervisor for Oasis Learning Community

Teaching Personnel is working with Oasis Learning Community based in Hampshire that operates in two hubs based in Southampton. The core purpose and ambition of the Academy is to be committed to delivering excellence for everyone, entitling the students, staff and community to an exceptional education. It is the Academy's responsibility to provide the highest standards of teaching and learning, enabling students to achieve their very best, preparing them for life in the 21st century.

Every member of the Academy community is valued irrespective of their race, gender, background, learning abilities or disabilities. All parts of the Academy building have wheelchair access via ramps or lifts to all levels. There are 11 specially equipped disabled toilets across 3 floors, including our sports & fitness area. We seek to encourage an atmosphere of tolerance and sensitivity, so that everyone in our school is conscious of the needs of others.

The Oasis Learning Community is part of the Government's programme to provide up to 400 Academies in England and Wales over the next few years. Oasis Community Learning is now responsible for 49 of these academies situated throughout the country.

The Academy prides itself on the very high quality of support and services it is able to provide to all its schools for both its students and teachers, these include:

  • Academic support e.g. Specialist Leaders of Education in specific subjects and Key Stage leadership and strategic planning to support students.
  • Pastoral support e.g. the Academy employs its own safeguarding and attendance officer to support all schools.
  • Fantastic NQT programme & new staff CPD programme

One of their schools based in Southampton are looking for Cover Supervisors on an ad hoc and longer term basis who can continue to contribute towards the schools academic success. They are currently recruiting for full time and part time cover supervisors.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree in an academic or sports subject
  • Have experience of working with children 11 plus
  • Be committed to the schools cognitive learning approach
  • Be committed their continual professional development
  • Have a desire to want to train to teach in the future

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
