Complex Needs Teaching Assistant Required

An Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' SEN school in Radcliffe, Bury are looking for a number of Teaching Assistants to support children with complex needs within their school on a long term basis.

This school is a 98 place school that supports pupils with complex medical, communication and physical needs. Some children also have Autism Spectrum Condition that can result in challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 4 - 11 throughout 10 mixed ability classes. Pupil's communication needs result in alternative methods of communication being used around school, such as iPads, PECs, Braille and BSL. Promoting independence is a main focus within this 'Outstanding' school therefore staff that share this passion is essential.

The Teaching Assistant will need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to all age ranges and with different abilities.

It would be highly desirable for the Teaching Assistant to have experience of;

• Moving and Handling
• PEG feeds
• Tracheostomies
• Personal Care
• School based experience is also highly desirable

A small number of pupils within this school also use BSL as their first language therefore Teaching Assistants with BSL training are highly sought after.

The school are looking for individuals to start ASAP and will continue on a rolling basis with a high potential of becoming permanent for the right person.
