One form entry community school North Manchester require a General Teaching Assistant to assist in the Year 1 class full time from February half term.
Class size of 30 children
Fixed term contract to the summer as a minimum
Ideal experience for someone who is looking to start a PGCE
Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a one form entry community school in the North Manchester area. The school is currently graded 'Good' by OFSTED and have come to Teaching Personnel exclusively with the position. They are ideally looking for a candidate with some previous School based experience or a graduate looking to start their PGCE in the near future.
The school has recently been graded 'Good' by OFSTED and is said to be 'Moving in the right direction towards Outstanding' according to the published report. The school is one form entry and has an average EAL and SEN percentage in comparison to the other schools in the area. The Headteacher is very approachable and has an open door policy which has led him to being very popular within the community and has a well sought after reputation with schools in the area.
The role will be working as a general Teaching Assistant in Year 1 full time for the whole of the academic year from February half term. Experience of taking small group interventions would be desirable and also knowledge of Phonics would also be beneficial. The successful candidate would be expected to support the class teacher throughout the day working generally in the class preparing resources, displays and supporting with the behaviour of the class. The ideal candidate will have experience of all this and have the relevant attributes to provide excellent support.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
