Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Sixth Form College

Location: Central Manchester, UK

Salary: Minimum £12.90 per hour

Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent

At Teaching Personnel, we are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for one of our prestigious sixth form colleges in central Manchester. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young adults and be comfortable in a professional setting. Located near the heart of Manchester, the college is easily accessible by public transport, with tram lines, trains, and bus stops in close proximity. For those commuting by car, there is a designated staff car park on site.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support to students in the classroom, aiding in their academic and personal growth.

- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised education plans for students.

- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their development and well-being.

- Assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organising classroom materials.

- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Requirements:

- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Empathy and patience in working with young adults.

- Previous experience teaching or working in a similar role preferred, but not required.

- Must have the right to work in the UK and be currently based in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
