Learning Support Assistant – Southampton

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Do you have personal or professional experience working with young people who require extra support in their education? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in Southampton and surrounding areas. We are looking for dedicated individuals ready to start full-time, term-time roles from September.

Role Details:

  • Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

  • Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

  • Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placements

Who We're Looking For:

  • Individuals with experience supporting children with additional needs - this can be personal, voluntary, or professional.

  • People with backgrounds in education, care, or medical fields (e.g. nursing, therapy, SEN schools).

  • Candidates who are 18 years or older, enthusiastic, and ready to make a difference from day one.

  • Those returning to schools or with transferable experience who are ready to hit the ground running.

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

  • A positive and patient attitude with a genuine desire to support pupils with diverse needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
