Full-Time Teaching Assistant

Independent SEN School | Southampton

Term Time Only | £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel are looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join a small, independent school in Southampton. This specialist setting provides therapeutic education for girls aged 9–19 with a range of complex needs, including:

  • High anxiety

  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)

  • Autism (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Attachment disorders

  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

  • Learning difficulties

Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, they deliver a highly personalised and nurturing education that supports both academic and emotional development.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups

  • Helping create a safe, therapeutic learning environment

  • Assisting in the delivery of tailored educational and emotional support

  • Promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and self-esteem

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people with SEN or complex needs (desirable)

  • Is calm, resilient, and empathetic

  • Can work well as part of a dedicated and supportive team

  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
